Campaign update

We have been busy pushing ahead with the campaign against these closures and taking part in various media interviews to highlight the campaign, and we have continued to ask Norfolk County Council for an interview with Councillor Stuart Dark who is the vice chair of the childrens committe.

A list of questions was put to the press team at Norfolk County Council, but councillor Stuart Dark has not agreed to take part in an interview, but instead has provided us with the following statement:

“We are proposing a new service that brings services out of children’s centre buildings and into local communities. It is communities and the staff working in them that make the most difference to children’s lives. By changing how we deliver services we would be able to provide more support to those in greatest need and create a service that is right for today’s families, with support available at evenings and weekends, as well as during the day.

It’s important to make clear that these are just proposals at this stage and we want to get as many views as possible. The feedback from the consultation will be used to further develop the service.”

We will continue to ask the difficult questions that the councillors don’t want to answer, and our campaign will be protesting outside the forum in Norwich tomorrow (Thursday 11/10/2018) from around 10am for the first of the Norfolk County Council open consultation days (you can find the event on Facebook at, and we will also be joining the protest outside County Hall in Norwich on Monday (15/10/2018) from around 7am onwards.

We thank you for your continued support, our campaign will not stop!  We would encourage you to post on your social media channels and get your friends & family to join our campaign.
